"Grow in the grace and knowledge 
of our LORD and Savior JESUS 
CHRIST!" 2 Peter 3:18

Once, entering the house of one 
of his congregation, Rowland Hill 
saw a child on a rocking-horse. 

"Dear me," exclaimed the aged minister, 
"how astonishingly like some Christians--
there is motion, but no progress!"

This rocking-horse type 
of spiritual life is still 
characteristic of too many the
Church members in the present day.

 "Grow in grace" is an exhortation 
but little regarded.

"As newborn babes, desire 
the pure milk of the word, that 
you may grow thereby." 1 Peter 2:2
