" Live In Harmony With One Another; Be Sympathetic."

How slowly we learn it!

"A new command I give you: Love
one another. As I have loved you--
so you must love one another."
John 13:34-35

How did CHRIST love HIS disciples?
How did HE demonstrate HIS love to them?
Was it not, among other ways . . .
in HIS wonderful patience with them--
with their faults, their ignorance,
their unfaithfulness;
  in HIS considerate kindness;
  in HIS ever-watchful thoughtfulness;
  in HIS compassionate gentleness;
  in HIS ministering to them
in every possible way?

What is it, then, to love one another,
as HE loves us? Is it not to take
HIS example for our pattern? But
how slowly we learn it! How hard
it is to be gentle, patient, kind, and
thoughtful to one another!

Still, the lesson stands and waits for us,
and we must never falter in learning it.

"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with
one another; be sympathetic, love as
brothers, be compassionate and humble."
1 Peter 3:8
